About Me

Vic Case as a child with Santa

My roots are in Kentucky, but most of my life has been spent in Texas, where I went to college and to which I returned in my work journey. Early hobbies were performing magic tricks and building and flying model rockets. I studied philosophy as an undergrad, which sharpened my focus on the significance of words.

Although I didn’t study acting as a young person, I was always drawn to it. I went to a community theater production in high school, had season tickets to the college theater as an undergrad, and ushered at a professional theater in graduate school. Only as a young adult did I start taking acting training, and I eventually tried my hand at community theater, even discovering that I could do well at comedy (who knew?).

One of my current pursuits is playing the piano. I occasionally perform at a local church, where I’m a member. In high school growing up in Western Kentucky, I had the great fortune to study with a wonderful teacher, Elizabeth Paris. After a decades-long hiatus, I started studying with Susan De Kam after noticing that her playing at my church was always artistic, never perfunctory. When she moved away she referred me to my current teacher, Stephen Nielson, an artist who has been inspiring as well as supportive of my goal as a performer to connect with the audience.
